This classic side has gone viral recently on social media. But I have yet to see quite this same recipe. Mine uses half the butter most others do, but more liquid.

Which ever way you choose to make it, it could not be easier than this ‘dump’ recipe.

It makes an amazing meal all on it’s own, or pairs well as a side to chicken, beef, or pork. Try it with my Country Salisbury Steak! (← found here)

Jump Ahead for the recipe if you don’t want the play by play 😉

If you’re using mushrooms, and they are fresh – Start by cleaning and slicey those babies up first. If using canned, just drain and add to a large bowl along with your liquids of broth, consomme, and french onion soup. Stir to combine

Measure 1 cup of long grained white rice and dump it right in the casserole dish

Pour your liquid mixture right over top of that rice

And dot with your 4 Tbsp’s of butter

and throw that Baby in the oven UN-covered for 50 to 60 minutes.

BOOM! you’re done 😎 – now sit back and relax for an hour or so and have yourself a tasty beverage. 🍻

Southern Brown Rice

Buttery beefy rice that melts in your mouth. You can throw this in the oven and relax for an hour while it turns into magical comfort food.
